The longitudinal Factors on the effects of Marital Satisfaction of Middle to Late Life: Focusing on Gender Difference

In the aged society, the relationship with spouses are found to be an important factor for successful aging. The purpose of this study is to analyze longitudinal factors on marital satisfaction after middle age. We analyzed 1 to wave 6 of KLoSA(The Korean longitudinal study of ageing). Dependent variable was marital satisfaction, and independent variables were household¡¯s variables, economic variables, health related variables and social relationship variables. Fixed effects model of panel regression analysis employed to examine longitudinal effects. For women, satisfaction with children, satisfaction with economic status, and depression had a significant effect on the marital satisfaction transition. Satisfaction with children, satisfaction with economic status, home ownership and job status had a significant effect on the marital satisfaction transition among men.
